Märklin CS2 on TrainController 7 and 8
Classification in Category C
In this post Mr. Freiwald made the following statement:
- A classification in category C instead of category A is not always solely due to technical reasons.
Manufacturer Support
Currently, there is talk of classifying the CS2 completely (not just partial functions) in category C. This is because Märklin consistently refuses to provide support for the CS2's proprietary screen interface for configuring the CAN interface.
Instead, they are trying to shift the responsibility for support onto the software developers. This is despite the fact that the interface, settings, and screen layout all originate from Märklin itself and are an integral part of the Märklin product.
- The classification in category C can therefore also be due to insufficient support from the central unit manufacturer.
