Buying a used TrainController

What to consider

What do you need to consider when buying a used TrainController software license including the USB license stick?

LizenzStick
fig: USB license stick

Is a license transfer possible and necessary? What are the prices for upgrades to a higher version?

Register license

Registering the USB stick under its new name is very useful in case the stick becomes defective. If an unregistered, defective stick is sent to the manufacturer, an exchange may not be possible because it can no longer be determined which product (e.g., TrainController Bronze vs. Gold) the stick is compatible with. This information is available with registration.

The same applies if no USB drive is provided, but the license key of a used license is entered during registration. Freiwald Software can then provide the key again in case of loss.

Therefore, it is in your own interest to always register a used license.

No upgrades to higher versions

Freiwald Software offers discounted upgrades if a valid license for the previous version is held and this license was purchased from us or an authorized reseller. The second requirement is not (retroactively) fulfilled for a used license, even by registering with Freiwald Software.
